Novumism is an ideology that merges esoteric religion, culture, philosophy, and politics. Novum Carta is the name of texts governing the belief system. The Novumist Council is the organizing body that oversees any official publications or stances of the Novum Carta.
The word "Novum" has many connotations that can mean political innovations, "novel, revolution, or new". "Carta" on the other hand means "charter" or "record". "Novum Carta" means "New Charter". A person who follows the Novum Carta is called a Novumist. The doctrine and practice of the Novum Carta is called Novumism.
As Tenets of Belief, a Novumist is someone who religiously holds three iconological concepts as The Source, The Mother, The One, and The Teacher. Religiously the Novum Carta espouses a concept of a relationship with the divine and a way to will the world into being with magick. As a Novumist, philosophy is interwoven with the religious aspects and these consist of the 2 States of Self, 3 Truths of Living, and 6 Paths of Self-Discipline. A central point of the Novum Carta is to "Walk the Paths" while maintaining a Middle Way in all things we do.
The 2 States of Self are defined at the state of the Hero and the state of the Anti-Hero. The hero possesses all the noble and productive qualities of a person. The state of the anti-hero is darker and has the traits of neurosis, fears, insecurities, and anger. A productive person chooses the Hero way.
The 3 Truths of Living are borrowed from Buddhism. It advocates that life is suffering and to send suffering one must Wal the Paths, the 6 Paths of Self-Discipline. These 6 paths are Livelihood, Thought, Action, Speech, Effort, and Understanding.
A Novumist priest is called a Messenger. Messengers abide by precepts that dictate the lifestyle they are to lead. Members do not need to follow these precepts but can if they choose to. Novumist’s consider themselves as politically neutral, contrarians, and simply a stop-gap between the Right and the Left. The best prevention of radicalism on either side is a strong center, in fact possibly even a slightly radical center.
We do not have a leader. We do not promise salvation or self-actualization. We do not ask for your money. All we ask for is your time to remember the ways of old presented in a new light.
WHAT NOVUM CARTA IS AND IS NOT
Novum Carta is a philosophical, political, and religious ideology. This website is the culmination of my personal beliefs and the way I live my life. This belief structure is inspired by many ideologies and philosophies and the combination thereof.
In general Novum Carta is:
- For self-governance, self-sufficiency, self-reliance, self-interest for the Individual, County, State, and Nation.
- For a responsible approach for businesses to help the individual and against mindless consumerism.
- A system of living and affirmations and prayer while practicing the Middle Way.
- All the while practicing simple rituals while living a simple life within your means.
- Advocates practicing Mindfulness in all aspects of one's life and to meditate often.
- That one should be knowledgeable of and prepare for The Cycles.
- And that one should accept a personal relationship with deity through discipleships.
What Novum Carta Is NOT
This ideology is not a:
- Separatist movement
- Anti-government movement
- Ethnic-nationalist movement
- Hate movement
Although these people exist, and may espouse themselves as belonging to this ideology, it does not mean that these people are the totality of this moment. This is not an extreme-Left or extreme-Right politically religious movement, in fact it takes a contrarian political stance. This means even the most popular opinions in society should be scrutinized and rejected out of principle.
Human existence is multidimensional in its entirety: African-American KKK members do exist, Caucasian people who advocate for the death of white people exist, and some people believe they can survive by only breathing air. If you take the most radical and absurd in any movement and hold it up as the entirety, you're being intellectually dishonest at least and a propagandist at most.
